Our outdoor-oriented program is where girls learn about nature, conservation, the environment, flora, and fauna of Western Virginia.
In our drama class, girls are invited to discover and share their expressive and creative sides through dramatic games and exercises. All Six Weekers are invited to audition for our annual musical production. Recent performances have included The Sound of Music, Wicked, and Aladdin. For those who prefer to work behind the curtain, including Three Weekers, there’s the opportunity to help with scenery, props, and costumes.
Camp Mont Shenandoah has a rich musical history with camp songs dating back from the 1930s all the way through to current times. We sing during campfires, after meals, and following evening activities. The Music Class leads our singing with their lovely melodic and harmonious voices. They also perform as our Church choir each Sunday. Dance was added as an activity a few years ago at the request of several campers who wanted to engage in more energetic, rhythmic, and choreographed artistic endeavors. Girls learn a variety of styles of dancing and often create their own performance to share with the rest of the class. Loud music can often be heard coming from the West Lodge sound system whenever our dance class is meeting!
